Bush's personallity traits play a large role in his decision making process. His most prominent traits are his humor and his seriousness. One can't really see Bush's funny side unless one are in more of a head-to-head environment with the man himself. There is a home-video documentary out there entitled Journeys with George, it is a documentary from the time of Bush's presidential campaign. In this video the audience really gets an inside look at Bush's humor and how he makes it work for him. Presidnets rely heavily on help from their aides, which is where Bush's humor can really come into play. Bush uses humor to get people to relax and lower their gaurd, that way they won't tell him a bunch of baloney, just the truth and not what they think he wants to hear.

What good is a decision if nobody makes sure that it is carried out? Bush believes that the best way to make sure a decision is carried out is to simplifly the government so that he doesn't have to get through a bunch of red tape to find the people to talk to. He wants one man to talk to to make sure things are going as planned. The article I have attached is a good example of the follow-through that the President is capable of. During his State of the Union address, Bush talked about the AIDS issue in Africa. Over 8,000 people die everyday in Africa because of AIDS, and Bush decided he wanted to put an end to it. When he goes to the G8 summit, he will try and lobby for support from other nations. This report just shows that his promises in the State of the Union address were not empty, and then when Bush makes a decision, he sticks with it.

If a decision maker absolutely needed to have one trait, it would have to be instinct. If you asked anyone close to him, they would tell you that Bush is a very instinctive decision maker, infact, Bush will tell you that himself. Bush makes it his business to study leaders of the past to mimick their good qualities.
