Values
My Values and Why They Are Important to Me I have, just like everybody else, values that have great meaning to me and guide my everyday life. I have been told to write about my values once before, and I did so unyieldingly. I love to share my values with others and compare them. Most of my friends have the same values as mine and I’m glad for that. The three values that I feel have the most impact on me are my relationships with my family and friends and how they have affected my life in a positive manner, my faith in God and my church, and my morals. Family means a lot to me because I see some children that don’t have a loving and caring family like mine. I understand that children can survive with only one parent, but it’s hard for them. I’m glad that I have both parents and a brother. I personally don’t believe in divorce unless there are extreme cases such as domesticate violence or adultery. Other than that, I don’t understand how people can fall out of love. I think divorce is a selfish thing to do, your abandoning your spouse and children. I also think having a sibling is a very important. I know not all parents want two or three children, but I think having a brother or sister helps one learn l

We didn’t seem to be that close when we were elementary age; arguing and pestering one another the way siblings do with one another, but when he was a senior and I was a freshmen in high school, he became very protective of me, guiding me through “teenage life” while at school. Now that he has gone to college, I miss him and I realize he was protecting me because he loved me greatly and cared about me. Our relationship has grown stronger and will continue to do so. I place great value on my family relationships and I always have my family’s support and love. Not only do I value my relationships with my family, but I also value the relationships I have with my friends. My friends help me whenever I need it and tell me what I can do to make something better. They give me constructive criticism. I love my friends because I can be myself around them, I don’t have to put on some fake personality to please them, they like me how I am. They also help me out if I have any problems and I know I can count on them to cheer me up when I’m feeling bad. Another major value in my life is being a member of the youth group at my church, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, and my relationship with God. I started attending church here in the third grade, and since then, I have been an active member in the youth group and church. I had my first communion when I was in fifth grade and became confirmed when I was in eight grade. This year I am o
