The Exorcist induces fear in the viewer by using numerous methods. The uses of these methods have made a dramatic impact on scary movies over the course of cinematic history. Overall I believe that the writer, William Peter Blatty, used several different methods to successfully instill fear in the viewer throughout the entire movie. As movies start advancing, many of these methods will lose their effectiveness….or will they? See you at the theaters!
