In “Sonny’s Blues” by James Baldwin, Baldwin sent Sonny and his brother on a quest to find the inter-personal communication that broken them apart. Sonny tried to live out his life the way he wanted to, and became a drug user and a delinquent. His brother, who was left to watch out for him, tried to be a provider for his family.
