I have spent my whole life living out in the country surrounded by cornfields, woods, creeks, and pastures. While I was growing up I don’t remember watching a lot of television. I spent most of my time outside playing and games with my little brother. One game unparticular that I remember is we would imagine that we were super heroes out of the comic books that we would read. My mom also said that when I was younger I would watch the fish swim in the aquarium or play with duchess our ferret, but I rarely watched television unless it was to spend time with dad.
I also remember that some of the shows that I did watch most kids my age were not allowed to watch. The one that I remember is Married with Children. I would watch that with my father every night before he left for work. It was the only way
However, I grew up with a lot of music that I heard either threw my dads records, CD’s, or the radio. I also remember that my parents listened to a lot of 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s head banger music. Which at the time when I was a teenager was thought of as unusual. I found my friends and I had completely different tastes in music. While I was listening to Ozzy they were listening to Ace A Base, or the New Kids on the Block. Looking back on it now I find my self blessed with out having put myself through the New Kids on the Block.
