Magazine production

On a cold, rainy, afternoon, a teenage girl wanders towards the back section of an enchanting, but familiar wonderland. As she slowly approaches this haven, she is overwhelmed by the assortment of colors, pictures and exotic symbols that lay before her. From topics on health, beauty, cars, hair, music, sports, and video games to topics of entertainment, lifestyles, computers, and foreign travel destinations, she becomes unsure of what topic interests her the most.

The magazine industry has become a billion dollar corporation within the last 60 years. Magazine publishers have found new and exciting ways to take our everyday knowledge and format it back to us with supplements that stimulate one, if not all of our senses. Along with the research that I have collected, I will prove that there are many different aspects that contribute to magazine production. Some of these topics may include: cultural influences, as well as careers associated within this dominating universe. I will also take you along a journey of guidelines that should be followed by anyone wanting to dive head first into the world of competitive influences journalism.

Within this industry, there are a number of different jobs that are needed to produce the product. Although all of the job descriptions are different, they all work together for one common cause, to produce a successful, money making magazine. It is true that any good product can produce a profit, but to produce a extreme amount of money, essential factors must be considered when producing a the product. A money making magazine is not only a common cause that a group of people, with many different jobs, work towards, but an environment where these certain people make their product work for them, in-return producing a large quantity of money. The production of a magazine employs people such as artists, writers, reporters, editors, publishers and other people such as sales managers, and people who work with the money. Artists, of course, work with the visual aspects, the writers work with the content of the magazine. The reporters go out into the community and report back the different topics that are written in the magazines. The editors seem to have the biggest job of the entire magazine production. These people are responsible for reviewing the entire magazine and making sure there are no mechanical or layout mistakes. If the editors approve the entire product then, the magazine is ready to be released into the public.
