Earnest Hemingway His Writings in his Life Time

On July 21, 1899 Earnest Hemingway was born and he lived through both world wars. In 1926 he wrote The Sun Also Rises and it was one of his novels which established his reputation as a great writer. In his writings he showed that he was deeply effected by the two World Wars. By World War I he wanted to participate in the war by going to the army, but because of his poor eyesight, he wasn’t allowed to. So he did participate by through his writing. Also in World War II he participated by reporting the war and writing books on the war. Many things effected his way of writing from his schooling to fishing with his father.

The book is what is called a roman a clef, a novel with a key meaning that is written about actual people and events. (Encarta) For instance, a character in the book named Robert Cohn was based on a man Harold Loeb.
