Presidential Candidates In the Philippines
In our opinion, actors shouldn’t really be involved in politics. They only get into politics because they’re sure that when they run, their fans, which make up the masses, will vote for them. They make up fancy speeches and promise a lot of things. But what do they really do once they get into office? Look at Mayor Joey Marquez. His city, Parañaque, has garbage strewn over the sidewalks. The city also has water problems. Also, the Bicutan area still has very bumpy roads. Another example is former president Erap Estrada. After just two years in office, he has been filed against for four cases, including graft and corruption. By now we should have learned from our mistakes. But now, we have another actor who is a wannabe politician. Not only is this his first time, he’s running for presidency! Millions of his fans already
proclaimed that he has their support. They are even hinting that he will win. We cannot let that happen. This is so because FPJ is not fit to run for president because he has no political background, did not finish school, and was only coerced to do so. Besides having no political experience, FPJ did not finish school. He is in fact a high school dropout (Juredo, 2002). We all know that a person needs the proper education in order for him or her to rise up in this world. Education enables us to be good servant-leaders. Education gives us the necessary information that we will need. For example, in economics, you will know things about supply and demand, marketing and strategies in it, production, and more. On the other hand, you’ll know about managing, financing, and budgeting in business. These are some of the courses
