The Buddah
1) To restrain the senses means to not allow them to determine what reality is, and should not let what they show you about an object to divert or distract you, and your imagination makes ideas about the perceived thing and leads to suffering, so to restrain one restrains their senses in that they control what they perceive and do not perceive using them.2) Once restrained, the senses will provide no fuel for your imagination to make ideas about the perceived, and therefore one will not be led into temptation and will not suffer. No attachment will occur if the senses are restrained, and that is one quality one must seek out in order to become enlightened, 3) A person’s senses can be very deceiving. Take for example a beautiful girl. One’s eyes may tell them she is attractive, so one seeks to know her, and pursue her, only to discover she is a vulgar and immoral person. This leads to heartache and other pains and sufferings. A persons senses can lead to this, and they can waver, giving one conflicting messages and thus leading to confusing. My own senses are unsteady
6) It entails guarding your thoughts and constantly being conscious of what you are doing and thinking. The passage says to tell one’s self “I am standing” when standing so to maintain posture and not to stumble. Being mindful of ones actions and thoughts means one is watchful of all they do, so they avoid all acts of passion and defilements and therefore helps one to become enlightened. 7) When the body is in complete seclusion from the noises of people and things, it is much easier for the mind to become detached from this world, because there is nothing to distract it and keep it focused on worldly things. The passage says no person can be at peace if he is among people, for that shows his greed and therefore could not be at peace. I think that in order to meditate properly, seclusion is necessary because our minds are easily distracted and in order to focus ones thoughts and clear ones head, its necessary to be in a private place, but not for your entire life. 4) Meditation can make one revitalized and strong, and clear a person’s head from harmful or confus
