Just Society
Equality, righteousness, morality, principals, love, respect and trust stand as the few ingredients mixing in my melting pot, as I try to create a better, more just society. Though they are all very delicate when alone, after being stirred together these everyday occurrences of life come together to form a perfect and more powerful society. From the outside any society can look just, but that is not what matters; what matters is what occurs on the inside. If a man rapes and kills a ten year old girl, yet gets off because he and his lawyer conjure up the idea to say he is crazy, does not live in a just society. A just society has a court system that convicts all people who have done wrong, crazy or not. This is where equality, righteousness and principals come in. A society where everyone has outstanding principals, where equality and righteousness stand predominantly, cannot go wrong. This society would care and respect the law and its fellow people. There would not be a need for others to steal or rob from each other because everyone would have trust t
heir peers, have a job and money wouldn’t be as highly regarded as it is in society today. Many people in our culture go to extremes to get something they don’t have, especially in the physical sense. From my experience my friends and myself, the issues of eating disorders, suicide, plastic surgery and self-mutilation stand as huge hurdle that we as a society need to jump. The fact that children starting at the age of 10 are becoming anorexic scares me immensely. In order to have a just society, where people are happy and content, these issues need to me broken down. In my civilization I would have everyone respect and love each other and themselves. Though this would be the hardest thing to do, I think it is the most important. I would start to tackle this issue by stopping the media from having such a huge impact on people’s (esp. kids’) lives. The “cool thing to do” would be to exorcise and read book, which would grant higher testing scores and would lower the obesity rate. This small, but important change in the media would defiantly be
