Evolution and the Origin of Life, Compatible?
The Evolution Theory qualifies as a scientific theory rather than a hypothesis because of its broader scope and nothing more. But the continuum of observations and experiments fail to validate its claims to the origin of life.Applying the scientific method, the observed facts no matter how vast do not support the theory of natural selection?or the origin of life or the species; that complex man evolved from simple form. Even in this ?descent with modification??the Darwinism view of life?there are many links missing or many rungs lacking in the ladder. These are grave defects which are conveniently called subtleties by the evolutionist. For example: the lack of evidence of a transitional form that lie between species is conveniently explained away by that a population is the smallest unit that can evolve. Then shouldn?t we expect to see more than one? But there?s none to qualify as that missing link between species and the more scientists look, the more frustrated they are. Another subtlety about natural selection is that it can amplify or diminish only heritable variations, but there is in fact no evidence that characteristics acquired during a lifetime can be inherited. Is this not in fact a grave defect in the theory?
DNA is deoxyribonucleic acid. Chromosomes are threadlike structures made o f DNA and protein. Which came first?the DNA which is essential for synthesizing of proteins, or the protein enzyme DNA polymerase without which DNA synthesis is not possible? The set of genetic instructions for humans is roughly 3 billion letters long. There is virtually no chance that chemical ?letters? would spontaneously produce coherent DNA and protein ?words?. Generation after generation through countless cell divisions genetic heritage is faithfully preserved in DNA. Life depends on accurate transmission of information. Even small mistakes can be fatal. To say that many of these changes occur spontaneously, as evolution theory explains itself, is staggering. If mistakes were as rare as 1 in a million, 3000 mistakes would be made during each duplication of the human genome. Since the genome replicates about a million billion times in the course of building a human being from a single fertilized egg, the human organism cannot tolerate such a high rate of error. (The actual rate of mistakes is 1 in 10 billion.) More biologists, scientists will declare: No evidence for evolution. The intelligent layman now suspects circular reasoning in the use of rocks to date fossils and fossils to date rocks. The geologist has not given a good reply. ?The only competing explanation for the order we all see in the biological world is the notion of Special Creation?, says Dr. Niles Eldridge, PhD., paleontologist and evolutionist, American Museum of Natural History.
