Animal farm essay
Animal Farm by George Orwell depicts the corruption of a well established community where a single power took over without competition. It uses animals to show the human nature and the exercise of power within societies. The movie Brave Heart also shows the process of rebellion and leadership. The animals rebelled because they felt they were treated badly and they only existed to enrich the humans. The animals wanted animalism. They made up the Seven Commandments and sang Beasts of England to show the world that they are free and nobody owned them. They obeyed only themselves and what’s right. But none would have ever thought of the horrible outcome of Animal Farm. The main theme in the book is power corrupts. Humans can’t resist the desire for more power and the wrong use of power. Everyone is lazy if they can afford to be. When one has all the power and total control over everyone, he or she will depend on others to do everything for them because the need to be self-proficient has been dominated by the power to control others. People are naturally lazy and want the benefits of a leader. Why do it yourself when you can get one of your follower to do it. One of the most obvious characters who show how
From Animal Farm, Orwell shows us that humans are not perfect and that one will always be corrupted one time or another sometime. We have governments and parliaments to make sure that it does not happen. Orwell also explains that rebellions begin only when people are unsatisfied with the way they are being treated. The animals and the Scottish people were unhappy with their ruler so they rebelled. The many themes and symbols in the book all show flaws in the society. Most have already been stopped like monarchs. Others have been changed to please our needs. There will always be rebellions and unsatisfied people in the world. All we can do is try the best we can to avoid them. Language can be used to control minds when you tell the people false information about you to make you look better and gain the people’s trust or to use it on the enemy to make them look worse. There are many famous cases that happened to us you may not even be aware of. When you walk down the street and you see an advertisement for a movie. On it said the movie is great and people gave it ten out of ten. The advertisement makes you want to see the movie even though it actually is a bad movie. Squealer always stretches the truth a little bit. He always comforts the animals after something bad has happened. When the humans attacked the farm the second time and destroyed the windmill all the animals had been working so hard on for the past two years, Squealer convinced them that it was still a victory and they can always build another windmill easily. Then the animals were not as sad and did work as usual. Squealer also announces the growth of the farm to the others to make them feel better about themselves and not make them worry if the food supply is low and rations have to be cut once again. In Brave Heart, the Scottish Soldiers were scared of the English and many wanted to leave because the horseman said the English had so many troops that it seemed impossible for the small Scottish army to defeat it. Abuse of language is taking advantage of someone’s knowledge and telling false facts to benefit you. Milk and apples were given to the pigs in the beginning of the bo
