Life is a mystery; a puzzle that we try to solve. Scientists cannot explain it and are unable to discover its origin. Many people say that God created life. Others say that life was created by nature, but how is that possible? Are we the product of a mixture of the sea and rocks? Nevertheless, we all know that life is essential; it is the only way in which we can achieve understanding. Life is our only basis of realization. We all run on a social clock, a culturally preferred timing of events such as marriage. But what does life run on. What is the meaning of life?

There are many different cultures, belief systems, and teachings; because of this we all follow different paths physically, spiritually, socially, and mentally. But we are all similar in the fact that we choose are own paths and that is what determines how we live our lives. This poem demonstrates Siddhartha’s life throughout his journey. “… A time to get and a time to lose…” In Siddhatha’s journey this quote from the poem illustrates the time in which he found out he had a son but his son was unhappy so his son eventually ran away. “… A time to mourn and a time to dance…” this will illustrates when Kamala dies and Siddhartha was mourning her death but then he fell in love for the first time with his son. “… A time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted…” A time to plant is refers to a time to settle down and a time to pluck up what is planted refers to moving from where you have settled.
