Mahatma Gandhi said "An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind." Concept of revenge has been around since the beginning of life. People in Palestine and Israel are fighting everyday, trying to get revenge on one another for what has happened to them. They seem to be trapped in a vicious cycle which at this point seems to have no end. Countries like United States use these conflicts to push their agenda and to benefit off of it, while terrorist such as Osama bin Laden use these events to manipulate people into killing thousands of innocents for revenge. Palestinians and Israelis have been fighting for five decades over land that was granted to both Arabs and Jews by the United Nations. Both factions have always refused to accept the existence of the other. Jew claim that Israel, formerly known as Palestine, belongs to Jews because it was promised to their forefathers by god. On the other hand Arabs believe that Palestine belongs to them because they have lived there for centuries. Palestinians feel they should not have to pay for the crimes committed against Jews by Europe by giving up their land. There is a very clear solution to this problem. Israel and Palestine should be divided. Palestinian should get 45% of the original land of Palestine while Israelis get 55% of the land. Jerusalem should be internationalized and controlled by the Security Council. There should be educational institutions built in Jerusalem that give people proper education about the Jews, the Muslims, and the Christians. Sharon and Arafat should resign from power because their people do not trust them anymore. They should all be charged for war crimes. Palestinians and Israelis rather then fighting each other, should work together to stop terrorism. If the Israeli security combined forces with the Palestinian government then it should not be very hard to rid Palestine of terrorists. Israel should remove all its settlements from Palestinian designated areas. Israel should pay some but not all reparations to refugees. In return Israel should get recognized by all Arab nations and should not be isolated. Israelis and Palestinians should be free to travel within both countries. There are several other ways to achieve peace between Israel and Palestine, but as long as foreign powers choose to benefit off of this conflict no one can ever resolve these problems.
