The movie and book Scarlet Letter have both differences and similarities. This made each better and worse in some ways. Personally I thought the book was a lot better. With the book you can use your imagination. With the movie you already have everything right there in front of you. The movie was boring and didn’t have a lot of creativity. Meaning everything seemed dull. For example the setting. It just seemed boring. The movie just wasn’t fun to watch. Reading the book made me build the movie up too much and I expected a lot more!

Pearl does not shut up in either about the letter “A”. She always asks her mother what it means. She wants to know why her mom has to wear the Scarlet Letter and why Reverend Dimmesdale holds his hand over his chest. Pearl is determined to find out what they both mean. She may already know what each means, but she wants to hear it from her mother’s mouth. Both show/ tell about Dimmesdale getting up on scaffold. In the book he locks himself in the stock fold and Hester has to get him out. In the movie Hester walks up on there with him and talks to him, but he does not lock himself in the stock fold.
Both show how great of a sewer Hester is. The only
