Cheers and applause is what was heard on this exciting election day in 1860. Between Abraham Lincoln and Douglas’ election, it was the toughest one yet. Abraham Lincoln was born on Sunday, February 12, 1809. Later on he married Mary Todd, and had four wonderful children. Today I will discuss about what made him famous, what he has done to impact my life, and why I chose to talk about Abraham Lincoln for my biography.
To begin with, I will discuss about what made Lincoln famous. One of the reasons is that he signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which is a document that stated slaves were free from then on. Also, Linc

Preceding, Abraham Lincoln impacts my life by allowing women to vote. This was an effect of his plans after the Civil War. When he signed the Emancipation Proclamation he allowed all African-Americans to vote. Since women were not allowed to vote, the white women became upset, and started to protest. After many years of fighting and protesting, a later president granted women the right to vote. So, woman suffrage was a result of Lincoln’s Civil War plans.
