This quote correlates with the two books and today’s society in these ways. “The Crucible” that correspondswith the saying. Proctor says, ”what you are doing is evil.” Proctor thinks about how he will correct this. Finally he thinks about telling the truth to fix everything. The book “the crucible and the book “Their Eyes Were Watching God” were very much similar to the above phrase. “Their eyes were watching god relates to the phrase not really through a man, but through a women, Janie. Three things that Janie did that related to the phrase are not settling for a man that would boss her around, yelling at Tea Cake when he stole the money, and finally sticking up for her-self to find true love. All of today’s society correlates to the above saying. Some for instances are, fighting the war with Iraq to preserve the right way of life, trying to stop the nuclear testing in Korea, trying to stop the starvation in third world countries. All of these things show that “all that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
