Sajda’s father (Ali) left her when she was seven. Sajda’s father was a very independent man, but what he could not bare was his wife Saida (Sajda’s mother), they were constantly arguing everyday about silly things, but with mutual decision Sajda’s parents both decided to call it a day when Sajda was seven. Sajda agreed to that and went to bed. That night Saida didn’t know what to do and was feeling very depressed, she got out of bed and went into the bathroom, opened the cabinet up and took some pills out, she was saying to herself shall I or shall I not? Is it really worth risking my life for her?

The next evening, Sajda thought about what she done, and was now partially taking the blame for her mother’s death. Days gone past Sajda had sleepless nights, and was thinking about her mother all the time, soon after the funeral was coming up, and Sajda phoned Aisha up and told her she couldn’t face going. Aisha was shocked to hear Sajda say that, and then Sajda said

“Next time I see Sajda with him shall I confront them there and then or shall I just ask her now”

Saida had no relatives in England they were all in Pakistan. As Sajda was born and raised in Bradford, she had a lot of Asian friends and connected well with them. Saida had one good dear friend, she was like a proper sister to her, Saida then asked Aisha her friend, if she would look after Sajda for until she comes back, Aisha thought to herself well I couldn’t not accept to look after her for awhile, Aisha pleasingly said yes I’ll look after her.
