Depending on who is asked weather the seven deadly sins come from the bible or from another source, many different answers are brought forward. One answer heard is that they are from the mouth of Jesus. This is not a common answer though. If looked up it is found not to be true. Another good answer is that this is all from the Catholic Church and not from the word of God, the Bible. This is probably due to the fact that Pope Gregory the Great revised them. But in actually he just shortened the eight deadly sins to only seven. This was due to his findings in the Bible. Which he believed to be true? Another answer is that yes they are in the Bible does contain the seven deadly sins but is spread thought the Bible. It is not contained in a few passages, which brings me to the last answer. The seven deadly sins are contained in Matthew’s Gospel (chapters 5 through 7) but they are not in simple list there. I do believe though that theses sins are in the Bible, and from my readings I do believe all the sins are through the bible. Yes I do believe that most of the sins are contained in Matthew’s Gospel (chapters 5 through 7). The bible does explain in detail about the sins that should not be committed.
