Lance Secretan once said, “Leadership is not so much about techniques and methods as it is about opening the heart. Leadership is about inspiration-of oneself and others. Great leadership is about human experiences, not processes. Leadership is not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine.” To me, community leadership is contributing what we can. I have learned that everyone can be a leader in their own way by sharing goals with a community.

It was in November 2003 when my heart got broken. While listening to the radio, I heard a story of how many children go to bed at night without eating. I thought of all the homeless that live in my community and have to search through garbage for their food. Since it was near Thanksgiving, I felt that I could help out in my community by making a Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless. I brought up the idea to my church youth group and they all felt that it was a good idea. With the help of my youth group, we were able to prepare over 50 Thanksgiving
