Macbeth - Act 1, sc.3-7
This scene is starting by the return of Macbeth and his loyal friend Banquo from the battle. On their way back, they meet three witches that Banquo named ‘weird sisters’. These three witches tell Macbeth about his destiny as becoming thane of Cawdor and then king. Banquo jealous wants to know more about good news for him but with no chances, Macbeth gets all the news. Avid to know more he asks again the witches. The witches heard the message maybe as an order, and it is known that witches hate to receive orders, so they vanish away and don’t answer back. When the witches were gone, Banquo and Macbeth received the news from the King by the arrival of Ross and Angus, other thanes. From them, Macbeth gets to know one of the two premonitions from the witches: he has become thane of Cawdor.(Note: Here Macbeth is sounds like a great man whom, from news or premonitions of ‘weird sisters,’ become avid of power. Now he is looking forward to know if he will or not become or not King) Back in Duncan’s palace at Forres, where he is looking forward for Macbeth returns. Lady Macbeth and Macbeth, near their great hall, are talking to each other’s. Here Macbeth seems that he can’t do anything to his king. For him Duncan had done enough, but Lady Macbeth tries to persuade him to stay on an idea of assassination. Macbeth worrying asks his wife about if he fail. Lady Macbeth not thinking about that idea makes him thinks that it will work perfectly. Like who would say that Duncan’s loyal cousin has done it… As Duncan’s cousin, if Duncan dies, Macbeth is automatically king.
