Macbeth

In my essay I am going to compare and contrast the behaviour of Lady Macbeth and the witches towards Macbeth. I am going to comment on the motivation for this behaviour and the influence they had on his character.
Lady Macbeth's behaviour towards Macbeth is different to the witches towards Macbeth. The motivation for the witches behaviour is to make bad things happen, and make Macbeth do evil things. They had a big influence on Macbeth, and everything they said to Macbeth he believed, especially after they said he would become thane of Cawdor and he did.
Lady Macbeth don't want bad things to happen to Macbeth, but she does want him to become king as if he does she would be queen, so she pushes him a lot and also puts him down occasionally to make him prove himself and make him do it.
Macbeth seems astonished and baffled by the witches prophecy, he cannot believe what the witches has told him, it has a big effect on him.
At first when Macbeth sees the witches he doesn't no who they are or why they have stopped them, but after he hears what they have to say, that he will become thane of Cawdor, then king one day he is amazed and demands to hear more.
When the witches say that he will become thane of Cawdor then king it has an effe

Macbeth didn't realise that because the witches were saying things he wanted to hear, he made the things happen himself, like becoming king etc. The witches were influencing Macbeth badly, by telling him he will become king Macbeth's mind starting working, and he thought if he murders the king he will become king, he wanted to hurry the process as he couldn't wait for the king to die himself, as he knew he could become king and couldn't wait, once the witches had put it in his head he had to do it.

She has a way of talking to Macbeth to make him change his mind, she puts him down but Macbeth doesn't like it, he changes his mind straight away.

Macbeth realises at the end of the play that the witches made him do evil things and he only believed what the witches wanted him to believe. Macbeth also remembers the witches telling him that he will be able to defeat anyone as long as they are born normally of a woman.

The meeting has an effect on Macbeth, as his first thought is to kill Macduff. The witches have told him that he must beware of Macduff. After the meeting has finished with the witches, he decides to go to Macduff's castle and kill his wife, children and all his relations. Macbeth is feeling very tempered and angry. This shows that the witches are making Macbeth do bad and evil things, they are also putting things in Macbeth's head, which is making him think things which might be false. Lady Macbeth is not aware of Macbeth's plans.

After Macbeth has committed the murder, he is in a state of shock, he cannot believe what he has done. Every noise shakes him and he knows that he will never get a proper nights sleep again.

Macbeth meets up a second time with the witches to find out more things. He wants to find out about Macduff , as it is apparent that Macbeth has a fear of him.
