Individual Role: A tea-drinking woolens importer from Boston.
As woolens importer from Boston, the newly acquired Quebec territory would be an excellent source of diverse furs and woolens. I think that the government in London should set up trading posts for the American colonies. This new land should incorporate our colonies and British rule to improve general economic value. We should be involved and benefit from this acquired land for the reason that about one-third of all of our States young men had seen service in the war. London is a huge economic debt. I think it would be a valuable decision to negotiate with the colonies. We hold no responsibility for their debt we should be receiving compensation for helping in this war.

This is Stamp act is ridiculous; the only reason for this tax is to help England out of there enormous debt. What are the colonies to do! Almost every mans livelihood requires the use of official paper, now its going to cost business's such as mine profits. I don't want to suffer profits to help out England. Boston should not recognize this tax. What gives England the right? We will demonstrate, we will petition. Andrew Oliver will be forced to not sell his stamps. Every other colony should do the same! If there is know one to sell stamps than there is now stamp tax!.

Governor Bernard and Lieutenant Governor Hutchinson need to send the British troops back. Ever since theses men have been here the tone of the community has been livid and irritated. When these men are not marching drumming and playing their loud music, they are in competition with the Bostonian workforce. This is not a way to make our economy strong. Our people are getting rudely outspoken and evil. We are taunting and acting hostile to theses soldiers. These were the reason why the events on March 5th happened. These soldiers must go home, our community must find peace.

The Americans once again, became angry over the situation because the American tea traders still had to pay taxes to Britain. The East India Company's prices were so low that the American traders could not compete.
