There are many reasons why every school should have a dress code; here's a few. For the male teachers and administrators, they feel uncomfortable when they see a girl with a low plunge blouse. Also, it causes distraction during class. For that, it provokes sexual tensions which causes sexual harassment. Lastly, it is rude and not to mention, degrading for a young lady or a young man to show his or her under garments. .
Knowing that the student thinks a teacher is attractive, a teacher goes up to a student to help her with homework. The student was wearing low rise jeans and a revealing top. The teacher was uncomfortable leaning close to the student because he cannot help but look at her. The student gets offended and goes to her dean and "report" her teacher. The teacher gets suspended and the girl files a lawsuit. Is it really fair that the teacher is getting in trouble for something that could have been avoided in the first place? It's not right to stare at a girl's body part, but what is the purpose of wearing a low-cut blouse, so it can be noticed.
I know that some are thinking, " it doesn't cause distractions during class". Well it does. A girl was wearing a short skirt, she bent over to reach for her back pack and " they saw Paris, they saw France, they saw her underpants". The boys were going crazy. They were pointing and laughing. The teacher was getting frustrated because everyone was laughing and talking about her underwear. Still think it is not a class distraction? How about when a teacher has to tell a student to go get another shirt from the office or his-her locker? The teacher still has to stop the class and write a pass. Even if the teacher just told the student to go change, that's plenty of lecture time for the class. .
