Newfoundland and Labrador has a unique and diverse culture that appeals to many people. It holds a economy of innovative spirit and creativity. It has many events and decisions which has a great impact on the social and economical state.

Zone 19 serves as a important service center for the entire province. It is the Northeast Avalon Peninsula that is also referred to as the heart of Newfoundland. It contains a number of communities including Avondale, Bauline, Colliers,Conception Bay South, Conception Harbour, Flatrock, Freshwater, Harbour Main-Chapel Cove-Lakeview, Holyrood, Lance Cove, Logy Bay- Middle Cove Outer Cove, Marysvale, Mount Pearl, Paradise, Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips, Pouch Cove, St. Johns, Torbay and Wabana. Out of the twenty economic zones geographically we are the smallest. Within Zone 19 there are traditional occupations such as fishery, government, services, and retailing. Holyrood is Located at the lead of Conception Bay South, the population is approximately 2100. The community is known for its scenic beauty, and beautiful harbour and marina. It was greatly involved in the fishery in the past, but now has a large refrigeration plant where bait fish is frozen.

Bell Island is the largest of severed islands in Conception Bay area. Bell Island was settled by farmers in the 1700's. The discovery of the iron ore in the late 1800's resulted in the Island becoming a mining community. It went onto become the third largest population in the province, but in 1966 the mines closed and then the population declined. Most of this community lives in Wabana. There are many sites to visit on Bell Island, the museums which hold many years of history during the mining years. The tour of the mines usually capture everyone’s interest. Bell Island at one time was one of the richest and oldest mining operations. Today Bell Island offers walking trails, beaches and freshwater ponds. The Bed and breakfast provides a unique experience for the outdoor person.
