He wittingly also disguised his men as a group of soldiers. They fooled the real guards by giving them order to chase after an empty cart. On the other hand the Scarlet and his crew rescue the Duc de Chalis family. Another diversity happen in the same day with the Scarlet disguise as an old hag with her son who she(the Scarlet) said that the son has the plague. But what the gates keeper didn't know was the cart contain the Comtesse de Tournay and her two children. So all in a day works save a few lives which will be put to death under the guillotine by the over thrown citizens. They sing a song that goes "God saves the King". Chauvelin knows that Armand's and the fugitive was in the hut but he try to out smart himself by waiting for Percy to come and capture them all. While all this was going on the Jew lead a few men to get close to the hut to see. The Jew(percy) while passing the hut had written a piece of notes include with another notes telling the instruction he wants Armand and the fugitive to do in order to get to the boat.
