The Life of the Great Rapper B.I.G.
Notorious B.I.G. also know as Biggie Smalls was born May 21, 1972 in Brooklyn, New York. He was born to Voletta Wallace. Biggie was born as Christopher Wallace. He was living in Bedford-Stuyvesant. He was given the name Biggie because of his weight. Biggie had wanted to be an artist and honor-roll student but dropped out of high school when he was 17. He became a crack dealer to make a living in the neighborhood. On August 4, 1994 Biggie got married to Faith Evans, after they were dating for nine days. In 1995 Biggie met a West Coast rapper name Tupac Shakur. They were good friends and Tupac supported Biggie. Also in 1995 Biggie had a daughter named T'Yonna. On September 13, 1996 Christopher Jr., Biggie's son was born. Notorious B.I.G. also known as Christopher Wallace was pronounced dead at 1:00a.m. on March 9, 1997. He was 24 years old. He was claimed to be killed by a black male shot at him. It was said that this man was from the west coast and was angry about Tupac Shakur's death. Many peop
le mourned over Biggie's death that day. Biggie Smalls had some successful things going for him when he was alive. After he was released from jail, he recorded some tracks onto a four-track tape recorder. This tape, after being passed around, ended up in the hands of Sean "Puffy" Combs, a young producer at the time. Biggie's tape made Combs think about expanding his career. He decided to start his own record label "Bad Boy Entertainment." Biggie was first heard on Mary J. Blige's "Real Love" and "What's the 411?" remixes. On September 13, 1994, Biggie's first album, "Ready to Die" was released. In the year 1995 he was named "rapper of the year" at the Billboard Music Awards. After his death his second album came out on March 25, 1997. This album was called "Life After Death." December 7, 1999 was when his third album, "Born Again" was released.
