The song “A Boy Like That/I Have a Love” is sung by Anita and Maria in West Side Story. Anita finds out that Tony hid away in Maria’s room because the police were looking for him as the killer of Bernardo. Tony, the founder of the Jets, had wanted to stop the fight between the Jets and the Sharks in order to be with Maria, but instead stabbed Bernardo in revenge because Bernardo had stabbed Riff first. Maria is Bernardo’s little sister, who is Anita’s boyfriend. Throughout the movie Anita acts like a big sister to Maria; she makes Maria’s dress for the dance, and takes care of Maria and watches out for her while Bernardo isn’t around.
