Football leagues of the world
Although there are many football organizations in the world the National Football League (N.F.L.) seems to be the most prevalent. Even though there are many different organizations, I would like to focus this paper on the professional and college leagues of the world. The National Football League Europe (N.F.L.E.), the Canadian Football League (C.F.L.), Xtreme Football League (X.F.L.), and the Arena Football League (A.F.L.). I will also discuss college football and describe how it is broken down into four separate divisions. To many people, the N.F.L. is better known than the other leagues in the world, this report, however, is going to give you, the reader, an insight into the other leagues around the world. College football, on the other hand is a league that is sometimes over looked because it is not a professional league. After briefly explaining the different football organizations around the world, I believe you will better understand them. National Football League Europe is a fairly small football league that was organized in Europe. N.F.L.E consists of only one division, which has six teams. I have now given you, the reader a brief overview of the professional and college football organizations around the world. I would like to predict that some of the other leagues around the world, such as the A.F.L. will soon become just as popular as the N.F.L. is today. Even though the N.F.L. receives the most recognition out of any football league in the world, it should be noted that there are many other football organizations worth watching. Another professional football league is the C.F.L. The C.F.L. was established in 1861 in Toronto, Canada. There are two divisions within the C.F.L, the East and West divisions. Each division is made up of four teams from different provinces of Canada. The number one team at the end of the year is determined in the Grey Bowl; that team is then awarded the Grey Cup. On November 26, 2000, the Grey Bowl was held in Calgary, Canada. The participants were the British Columbia Lions and the Montreal Alouettes. The British Columbia Lions won this year by a score of 28 to 26. Although the C.F.L. may be a small football league compared to others throughout the world, it remains to be very popular in Canada. The Xtreme Football League (X.F.L.) will be having its premiere season in 2001. The X.F.L. is a league that is being formed in the United States; the first game will be on February 3, 2001. The X.F.L. was organized primarily to allow football to be played and watched (on television) duri
