Heroic process essay

In order to accomplish something, there are always steps to take and the process in which the steps occur. Whether it's baking a cake or taking the steps of psychological development, there has to be the process of it. This is true in the book "The Hero Within" by Carol S. Pearson. There are six archetypes in the process of heroic journey. Journey begins from the Orphan to the Magician. .
From the six archetypes, it starts from the Innocent to the Orphan. The orphan's task is the surviving difficulty, which leads to self reliance and the fall from innocence. For example, a person has fallen from the innocence if one has experienced a betrayal from a friend or the most trusted person. The Orphan stage only receives and only comes in and nothing goes out. When the Orphan has fallen from its innocence, the Wanderer comes in. From the result of fall from the innocence, the Wanderer may experience loneliness for awhile, but sooner or later, they will develop better relationships with other people in order to accomplish its task which is to find yourself. When the Wanderer finds its own way and makes a decision about life, the Warrior comes in. .
When the Wanderer finally makes a choice, the archetype now changes to the Warrior. The Warrior archetype has strong beliefs within itself that one likes to prove and act upon it. For example, most of people have part of Warrior archetypes within themselves because people don't like to lose and people acts upon what they believe. This is very similar with the male culture in our society. Males tend to fight battles and stand up to their beliefs and protect boundaries. During the journey of a Warrior, one must learn humility to take the next step which is the Altruist. Altruist comes in after the Warrior. The Altruist sets aside that ground for something greater. It is not for self benefit as it was during the Warrior stage. Altruist must learn to give for the sake of giving.
