Upon returning home John was clothed and was bought new shoes. His biggest concern was food in the field he did not eat much and had lost twenty five pounds. Although John returned to America he would return to live in France later in England and Greece to. In the book he mentions how he could not bare to live somewhere where peoples eyes were not like his, where people did not act like him. He said that people in Europe we like him unaware of their surroundings and afraid and had seen people die like he had. He didn’t earn a lot of money and he didn’t live in the best place but he did enjoy what he did and where he lived. When he grew old he would return to live in the U.S and live in Toronto.
