Love Don't Cost a Thing

Love Don't Cost a Thing was an extremely entertaining movie. While watching, viewers will greatly enjoy themselves and have a good laugh. The familiar plot line is simple and easy to follow, which makes the movie hardly thought requiring. People enjoy a decent movie where they can "kick back and relax" for a few hours and not work their brain. .
When screening this movie, viewers may think to themselves that they have seen this movie before. This is because Love Don't Cost a Thing is a remake of the 1987 film starring Patrick Dempsey, Can't Buy Me Love. However, the new film adds detail and new "flavor" to the plot. In this film Alvin Johnson, played by Nick Cannon, is a nerdy guy who cleans pools and works on cars and computers for fun. Paris Morgan, Christina Milian's character, is the most beautiful and popular girl in school and is also a cheerleader. Paris has never noticed nor paid attention to Alvin because they do not hang with the same crowds. But when Paris crashes her mothers escalade after being warned not to drive it, she definitely notices Alvin. Alvin, who works at the garage where Paris brings the car, offers to pay for the parts and do the work for free over the weekend if Paris will agree to pretend to date him for two weeks. Paris agrees and the deal begins. Both characters get what they originally wanted from the deal; Paris" mother doesn't find out about the car and Alvin gains some popularity through being associated with her. What happens next can not be revealed because it is too good a movie to have the ending spoiled. .
The acting in this movie is very successful. Nick Cannon's transformation from geek to sleek is so smooth that it gives the movie a real flow. Cannon previously had a show on Nickelodeon and made his major film debut, despite small appearances here and there, with the hit movie Drumline in 2002. He began as a comedian and is still very much one.
