Our company recently implemented a new Drug Distribution and Recall System (DDRS). The purpose of the DDRS is to query multiple databases for information in regard to the disposition of drug product by NDC (define) and lot number that has been distributed to the sales force, practitioners, and customers. This information is used to facilitate, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure in regards to the recall of a drug product that has been distributed. The DDRS generate queries, reports, and mailing labels to be used in the drug recall process. In addition, the DDRS allows entry of responses and returns for tracking purposes.
The scope of the project was to rewrite this legacy online application on a new platform using new technology such as HTML, ASP with an Oracle database repository. Since this system was a legacy system, the company felt there were a lot of new features that needed to be implemented in order better benefit the end users and customers.

In order to move forward in each phase, the company requires a sign-off to be completed by all specific parties involved in each particular phase. Once the final stage of the V-Model has been completed, the system is in a production status.
