Many words in the English language have extremely similar definitions, but have vastly different connotations. Examples of such pairs of words are recreation…play, lady…woman, and art…craft. It is incorrect to interchange these words in writing or language; however, people do.
Take the two words terrorist and revolutionary. At first glance, these words seem to be synonymous because they are of the same part of speech, noun, and have similar denotations—definitions. They appear to b
