The first institution that is considered to be very important is the family. The

families role in society is to give all the necessities to your young ones, including all the

emotional, physical and mental support. But unfortunately there occur problems in society

where the family are just not able to support the family, so the family itself is just destroyed and

dysfunctional. Also the family would reject the kids, because they are just to caught up in

themselves or in drugs, alcohol or they simply don’t care. So in then end the kids are just loose

and out of control, go there separate ways and look for support and security elsewhere. In this

sort of situation there is not much to look upon an older one or role model that can be there and

display a difference of character so that they can look upon and possibly follow along.

Secondly another institution that provides an important part for a youth’s future is education. With a world of gangs outside in the society, it is bound that gangs are found and school and may cause learning

to be one the verge of dismantle towards the youth. The things that occur when gangs are present in school are probably the risk that marks drop rapidly, gangs versus other gangs, also the dangerous threat of students being armed with weapons, truancy and no role models. Teen gangs in schools brings the innocence at risk from other students to teachers, it makes the environment just more unsteady and learning unstable.

Gangs are a group that can be understood to some as a second family, a group to feel accepted, security etc. They feel that there’s no where else to turn to, so they turn to there friend our streets. Eventually get hooked on a gang or start one themselves. Then this creates competitions on the streets with more types of gangs out there, different races that hate one another, and fight for there turf our neighbourhood. Not only this but also the face that it is so easy to have weapons ranging from powerful hand guns to sub-machine guns and the list goes

Lastly, religion does fail to meet the needs to gang member because it just does not appear that the words from the bible have an impact on gangs. According to the bible there commandments that says “you shall not kill” or “you shall not steal” and so forth. These statements have no affect whatsoever, so there is a problem there. And there is no influence there, on Sundays there’s the pastor in the church. But during the week there is just no spiritual guidance there to support them.
