Song of the wonderer

It all started with the first book, INTO THE LAND OF THE UNICORNS, also by one of my favorite authors, Bruce Coville.

The story began in the first book where Cara first entered the wonderful world of luster. She fled to luster because her grandmother on her mother’s side said she was in great danger and she must. Before she went her grandmother, Ivy Morris, told Cara that they were being trailed by a hunter. A hunter is a human that has pledged his or her life to track down and kill unicorns until there is none left.

After she left St. Christopher’s church where her grandmother had led her with amulet, found herself deep in the woods of luster. While she was wandering, she met friends of all kinds, Lightfoot the unicorn, Squijum the half monkey , half squirrel, Thomas the tinker, and Dimblethum who was half man and the other half bear. As she came to know these creatures they became her friends and her knowledge of luster grew, but the only way she could speak to the creatures of luster is by touching them.
