Pythagoras was born in 569 B.C in Samos, Ionia and died in

475 B.C. His father was Mnesarchus and his mother was

Pythais, a native of Samos. His father was a merchant who

came from Trye. As a child, Pythagoras spent his beginning

years in Samos, but then traveled with his father. It is not
