There are many different types of operating systems, and preference usually depends on the users needs. For instance, many beginners tend to choose Windows or the Macintosh OS, while seasoned computer users may choose a less user-friendly operating system such as Linux. There are also many different options to consider when choosing an operating system. The user must decide whether their filing systems, such as FAT32 or NTFS, are compatible with the operating system that they choose. For instance, Widows98 cannot be used NTFS, while Linux can. The user must also decide which operating system is compatible with their computer. This is important because an operating system like Windows will not work on a Macintosh
