Spirituality has been always related to religion. People think that just because a person believes in God she is religious. Also, if a person reads the Bible or goes frequently to church, she is considered religious. What people have not understood is that spirituality is totally different from religion. They cannot comprehend how one could be without the other. Certainly, they are separate. The Bible says in the book of John chapter four, verse twenty-three the following, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.” This verse is my base to believe that God does not want religious people but “worshipers in spirit and truth.”

I have had a personal relationship with God for four years. These four years have been the best years of my life. My heart was wounded because I had a father who abused my mother and me both physically and verbally. When I knew Jesus, He changed my life. He healed my wounds and He gave me eternal life. Any religion could not do that. Religions just judge me but did not help me. Now I am convinced that spirituality is more powerful than religion.
