Evil and goodness
The difference between Jack and Ralph in the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding is simply good versus evil. Some of the examples of their oppositions are their ideals of social responsibilities, individual’s personality, and their appearance. Ralph and Jacks have something in common: their aversion to each other throughout the book is very apparent. “I was talking about the smoke! Don’t you want to be rescued? All you can talk about is pig, pig, pig!” this explains that Jack and Ralph's disagree with each other on their different ideologies of social responsibility. First of all Ralph is very kind and generous and helpful. Since Ralph is the leader of the tribe he is always helping people by keeping the fire going and building the shelters even though nobody helped him except Simon. In conclusion, the arguments establish differences between Jack and Ralph's social responsibility's, individual personality, and their appearances. All these things made the two different from each other. Thus, their mutual disliking enhances by their differences and stress of the situation which made them enemies by the end of the book. Therefore this signifies the differences between good and evil. “We’ve got to have rules and obey them. After all, we’re not savages” this shows that the personality of two characters is very contrary. One of Ralph's personality traits is that he is sensible, or in other words, he puts things into perspective. For example, he knows that the only way to get rescued is to keep the fire going. Instead of going hunting and having fun all the time with the others, his priorities are to keep the fire going. Also, Ralph shows the intelligence by telling everybody to make huts.
