Influence of the media on youth

There are many things I cannot stand about today’s media. It’s corrupt with false advertising, brainwashing music, and false examples of the human being. Products are exaggerate and so called “good looking” specimens of the human body are used to sell things. I think there are both good and bad aspects of today’s media’s influence on society. But the bad definitely outweighs the good. So if I had to pick a side, I would be against the media’s influence. I cannot fully take a con-media influence position because of all the good media out there.

PowerAde. Probably the worst offender of false advertising. “Drink this and you’ll be able to run a marathon!” screams the television commercial. I do not doubt that PowerAde and Gatorade have thirst quenching properties, I’m sure they do. I happen to know that Gatorade has a research facility for product improvement. But they exaggerate it to the maximum. Only on television have I ever seen someone get a full night sleep, a cup of coffee and be fully refreshed with one sip of sports drink. Although, for the same reasons as to why I hate PowerAde and Gatorade, I respect Sprite. Sprites angle is “this won’t make you strong, it won’t quench your thirst, and it w

All in all, I am against the influence that the media has on today’s society. Mostly on the youth, at least the adults were brought up in sanity. Maybe some day money will stop being such an important thing and we can go back to good media. Then their wont be any need for film festivals, because everything will be good.

PowerAde and Sprite are both owned by Coca Cola Inc. Therefore I cannot credit coke for sprite’s brilliancy. They’re doing both good and bad. But I could blame the people who go in for the ads more than the makers of them. PowerAde knows what the people want, they know what will make me want to go and buy a bottle, they spend millions on researching it. It’s our minds that are creating these ads. It’s what we want to see. Therefore they cannot be blamed for their actions, its business as usual.

Why are people that can talk on tape considered such geniuses? They’re not even real musicians. I would have some respect for them if they wrote their own lyrics, but that’s what the writers are for.

I know this is a fairly common topic when someone brings up media influence, but I couldn’t ignore it. When companies hire people for their commercials and ads, they chose the fittest, most beautiful people. What e
