In the United States there are many non-profit organizations, some of them are small and some are large. Some of these programs have been here since before even I was born, and some have only been here for a little while, but they are all important. In this report I will have 5 examples of non-profit organizations, the first of which is the American Red Cross. A Swiss Philanthropist by the name of Jean Henri Dunant founded the Red Cross. Dunant had been touring Italy in 1859 (during the Austro-Sardinian War) and had seen 40,000 men killed or wounded, and he had been so disturbed by the sight that he got a whole bunch of volunteers together to form a relief group to help these s
