Renaissance: The Rebirth of Science, Art, and Religion

Renaissance is a term with a variety of meanings, but is used widely in discussion of European
history. Renaissance originates from the Latin word Rinascere and refers to the act of being reborn. It is not unreasonable for the time period of about 1400AD to around 1600AD to be referred to as theRenaissance, since it was a time in which Europe was reborn. It was a dangerous world in which people were faced with many obsiticles, catastrophic events, emmense suffering and tests of faith and strength.
The Renaissance time period, was the direct result of the many hardships, which caused the rebirth of science, art, and religion.
Besides being a very dangerous and unsafe time period due to war and violence, the Renaissance is also known for being one of the most disease infested time periods in Europian history. At the time people did not posses any knowledge of antibiotics, antiseptic practices, modern medicine and cures. Surgury often failed killing the patient and it certainly did not help that the people had very poor diets, crowded housing, dirty streets and rivers, abundant rasts, fleas, lice, and seldomly washed

Dispite the fact that the Renaissance was full of war, violence, religious conflint, disease, famine, and death, the people of Europe managed to turn the situation around to their advantage,creating the rebirth of their societies. The Renaissance era, was the direct result of the people's suffering which created the rebirth and growth of science, art, and religion.
