The Future of Business Management

All types of organizations in the past have taken huge strides towards more effective management and leadership. Business has evolved from tackling the simplest task to engineering complicated assembly lines. When a firm formulates its business plan, it is essential that the plan is flexible and adaptable to the changes and growth that is inevitable in the future. When the growth is controlled, it can lead to financial success, however when it is not controlled, it can lead to financial failure (www.sba.gov). The business plan must be used as a motivational tool to give employees in the organization goals and direction in order to keep the rate of growth running smoothly and keep the four functions of management, planning, leading, organizing and controlling in line with the goals of the organization. This allows businesses to quickly reap the benefits of improvements in overall product or service quality and greater business opportunities.

In fact, while the two groups may always be at odds with the other in regards to the way they deal with employees and situations within the firm, they are both always essentially reaching for the same goal; to guide the organization into the future by solving current problems, being prepared for new problems and adapting quickly to inevitable changes in the way the business runs. Leaders tend to promote their ideas regarding the goal to be achieved, whereas managers are very impersonal and process-oriented about the objectives of the organization. Managers are tough-minded individuals who look for the advantages of changes in technology. Leaders are more apt to develop new approaches to problems when a manager would stick to the old system of accomplishing a task rather than complicating the system with new training programs and procedures. In other words, management ten
