Network Engineereing
The field of network engineering requires you to have a very vast knowledge of computers, communication equipment, video equipment, peripherals, software and the different cabling methods. With the computer industry advancing so quickly there is a need for highly trained workers to design and develop innovative hardware and software systems and to integrate new technologies. “Network engineers may also be known as Computer Engineers, Network Consultant, Network Developers/Designers, Network Management Software Engineer, Network Software Engineer, Network System Development Engineers, Operations Engineers, Service Engineers, or System Integrators.” (MOIScript #438-Network Engineer 1) And they can specialize in many different areas like administration, Infrastructure analyst, hardware design engineer, systems engineer, etc… There are many different job duties involved in network engineering. Working with people and being able to communicate well is one of the most important things. Going over the plans for a network with the customer is the first step in designing a network. When consulting a customer on the design of a network always take into consideration the cost and how he/she wants to use this network. Local area ne
A doctorate, masters, or bachelor’s degree can qualify a person for this occupation. Programs from many Michigan colleges and universities suit the basics for admission to engineering schools. “Entering a college or university may require graduation from high school in a college preparatory program, a grade point average acceptable to the school to which you apply, and passing entrance examinations.” (MOIScript #438-network engineer) After being accepted to a college like Ferris State University that has an excellent computer program there are many courses and different training to attain. Courses that u must take first are the basic ones. These courses will have to be taken no matter what college or university u attend. The general education classes taken in the first two years are as follows: fundamentals of public speaking, English one and two, advanced technical writing, intermediate algebra and numerical trigonometry, algebra and analytic trigonometry, applied calculus, Fourier series and applied differential equations, introductory to physics one and two, and for your electives either cultural enrichment or social awareness. These courses combined make up 54 of the of the minimum 131credit hours. In the next two years you will take 57 credit hours of courses going toward your major. These courses are: PC data acquisition and control, C/C++ programming applications, high level programming, network theory and testing, real-time operating system, IET technical prepara
