I can still remember my first day of freshman year. As I walked through the doors of Holy Trinity, I felt as if I was entering into a new, profound, and exciting experience. My years at Holy Trinity High School, thus far, have proven to be all of these things, and more. High school has been a wonderful learning experience for me. I have learned so much about the world around me as well as about myself. For the past three years, I have worked hard in the areas of service, scholarship, leadership, and character. I feel that in order to be successful in high school, it is essential to be a well-rounded individual. That is, a student must excel academically, maintain their personal development, and have an active role in their home and school communities.When it comes to service, my philosophy is: what good are your talents and abilities if you don’t share them with others? If you were to lose everything today, the only thing people would be able to judge you on is your character. People who know me most intimately would describe me as an honest, trustworthy, and dignified person. For me, to be thought of in such high esteem is a great honor, and I couldn’t see myself doing anything to compromise that honor. My experiences in volunteer work and in high school, in general, have built on my character a great deal. Maintaining good character is important to me because I believe it is the basis of your personality. Character affects almost everything in your life from relationships to your career. Being a leader requires great responsibility, but it is also very rewarding. Although I am not in any official leadership positions in my school community, I feel that I exhibit leadership qualities in the classroom and in my position as a tutor.
