First on the stand was Black Hawk. Whites attacked his tribe even after they surrendered and the whites kept killing them. Jackson treated hawk very bad after the war. Usually prisoners of war treated good if they are leaders ad some compromise is sought but Jackson did nothing like that. This shows his personality as a disrespectful person and a personal hate towards the Indians.

Third on the stand was Martin Van Burren who was the vice president. He said that Indian removal was necessary and forcing them to leave was the only way they could get rid of them and industrialize. He says Jackson wants good for the people. He is only talking about whites though what about the Indians. What he did for them was nothing. He should be helping both sides not just one. Protecting some of the Indians rights would have helped.

In conclusion, Jackson is guilty of committing crimes against humanity. He treated the Indians in a very bad manner, which was apparent from Black Hawks testimony. The defense and Clay argued he did it for the people, however, Clay and Marshall pointed out that he based many decisions on his personal reasons and had hated the Indians before he was even president. Andrew Jackson could have at least given Indians some rights but he definitely did not think them to be people. Andrew Jackson should be punished because he s responsible for the many deaths and suffrage the Indians went through.

First on the stand for the defense was a white settler Thomas Hamson. He claims that Indians hurt the whites a lot and it is better they stay separated. The prosecution pointed out that Thomas lives in Ohio, which was banned to whites according to the proclamation of 1763. This shows Jackson was not good in making sure the whites follow
