Many things happened in the past couple of years that really opened my eyes to what terrorism is. At first you wonder why people would do the things they do and my first thought always use to be that these people are just crazy. When you actually look into the reasoning behind what they are doing you can almost put yourself in their shoes and understand why they do what they do. It does not make it right or ok by any means but it gives you a better understanding of the things going on in this world full of terror and destruction. So in this paper I am going to look for the reasons to why terrorists do what they do.
While researching this topic I looked in many different places. I looked mainly on web sites for this project due to the fact that most of the information on terrorism is new or just surfacing because of the recent terrorist attacks on the U.S. So I found that the Internet was the best source of information on this topic. I used msn search engine and also Yahoo Search I found these to search engines to have the most useful information on terrorism. The best way I discovered to find information for this topic is to search the Internet. I look at many different web sites and it gave me a well-rounded understanding of terrorism and what it is. The magazines that I looked at did not help me all that much. Magazines talk mainly about September 11th attacks and doesn’t really talk about the background of terrorism. There are hundreds of web sites on the other hand that talk just about terrorist schools and why terrorists are like they are. My best advise to someone doing research on the reasoning behind terrorism would be to search the web.
search engines I would use the Keyword “Terrorism” and thousands of web sites would become available for me to view. I found a few magazines that were helpful in doing this project also.
This paper has definitely helped me realize a lot about not only terrorism but also doing research and preparing papers. This is the first research paper that I have done in college and I think that my writing and research skills have improved a lot just from writing this paper. I had a couple friends read over my paper and they helped me with mistakes that I made and that really helped me a lot. I also learned that different subjects are found better in different areas. Like this topic on why terrorists do what they do, it was a lot easier to find helpful information on the internet than in magazines and books.
