Radio

The theme of “Radio” was that anybody of capable of accomplishing their goals. Also another theme was that family should come first before everything else in your life. The theme in “Radio” was definitely realistic in the sense that anybody can do what they want to when they put their minds to it. “Radio” actually was a true story about a retarded boy / man who grew up and didn’t really have an outlook on how he was going to live his life . Radio ( the main character ) would go everyday down to town with his shopping cart and walk by the schools football practice just to watch for 5 minutes.

The plot of the film was for Radio overcoming his fear of strangers and opening up to people other than just his Mom. Also the head football coach later on in the film , begins to neglect his daughter during her high school years .The story developed very slowly. You knew that Radio was going to become acquainted with the football team but you weren’t really sure exactly when . Eventually Radio met the football team but not in a way that u would have liked it to happen. The football players abused him and locked in a garage by the football field . This led to the coach meeting up with him and more interaction between Radio

The action flowed smoothly in my opinion because nothing all of a sudden changed . I feel that u cant just jump into a situation and u need to gradually progress toward it. The editing was decent . Radio carried a radio around with him and played music a lot (that’s where he got his name) and that would express Radios mood at the time . Sometimes when radio was sad he wouldn’t play his radio and smile like he normally would. When Radio didn’t want to talk to anybody , he would push his shopping cart to break the silence and avoid whoever is trying to talk to him. The transitions moved slowly one from perspective to the other . Usually you would be seeing either the head football coach or Radios outlook on what was currently happening.

I enjoyed this film very much . I was engaged emotionally from the intro on. I felt very interested in what was going on throughout the movie. I realized a few of the camera shots and the music. They really helped express the mood of that scene. I think this film would be appealing to anyone that feels sympathy for others or gets emotional. It was a very good film if you got into it and began to feel how the characters may have felt. I think the film is fairly successful , but before I went to see it I had only seen one advertisement on television . If they would have advertised more , maybe the outcome would have been a little more positive. I would definitely recommend this film to somebody else. It seemed to be smoothly produced and is also made you leave the theatres happily.
