Child labor in the world today is no better than it ever was. Child labor is being used to make products that people like you and I use daily. Many children will never have the chance to go to school to learn and become something great. “The president of India has urged children to dream great things, but where is the time for children like me to sleep, leave alone dream?” This was said by a young thirteen-year-old boy named Kannan. He works in a silk-weaving industry from dawn to dusk “throughout life” until the loan his parents took is paid back. Kannan is a victim of child labor as are 250 million other children between the ages of 5 and 14 around the world.
